Washington National's fireballer Stephen Strasburg has hit the Disabled List for the first time in his Major League career. Only nine starts into his first year on the mound, the 'Nats scratched him from the lineup just minutes before he was scheduled to make his tenth start.
Strasburg has put up an impressive performance thus far with splits of a 5-2 record, 2.32 ERA, 75 strikeouts and 15 walks since making his major league debut June 8. Placing him on the DL this early in to his career is no funnier than David Letterman's lame Strasburg top 10 List.
He is already drawing eerie comparisons to the once great Kerry Wood, not only because of possible arm troubles, but their striking physical resemblance as well. Wood was only able to muster up 19 decisions before he needed Tommy John surgery. Lets hope Strasburg's injury is not serious because the last thing the nation's capital needs is another injury-prone superstar.
