Macklemore, the pale, skinny Irish gentleman from Seattle pictured above, has been criminally slept on for years. In my opinion, he is the most underrated hip hop artist in the game today, which is why I had to give him his own post.
After dropping The Language of My World in 2005, Macklemore had some issues with substance abuse, silencing him until he released The Unplanned Mixtape in 2009. Four months later, Macklemore teamed up with producer Ryan Lewis to create The VS. EP. Now he is signed to The Agency Group record label and on the verge of doing big things.
Macklemore has a style and sound that could be mistaken for Atmosphere with lyrics that make you take a step back and think, but he also has the ability to create a fun, party song. Paul the octopus has died. Tuesday morning in Frankfurt, Germany, the octopus we all knew and loved while we were all knowing and loving soccer during the World Cup Finals went to the great octopus's garden in the sky.
I know it's late. But, after seeing the tribute show Sunday night at Carabar, I just figured you guys should hear what you've been missing out on. Eyedea will truly be missed.
I know little to nothing about Nascar. I'm alright with that. What I do know, Kurt Busch drives the number 2 Miller Lite car and, the ladies in the portrait above are the Cope twins. On Saturday, Amber and Angela will drive go-fast-trucks in a circle very quickly in Martinsville, VA. In doing so they'll also be making history, they'll also be someone's hot nieces. There that's it, that's what I know. Watch if you dare, just know you're watching truck racing instead of football.
